Experienced Hickory Probate Lawyer Manages Distribution of Assets

North Carolina attorney works to carry out final instructions efficiently

When someone close to you dies, managing their estate can be a difficult challenge at an already painful time. A seasoned advisor will give you the ability to handle key legal tasks efficiently and economically. Donald R. Fuller, Jr., PLLC guides estate executors and administrators at each stage of the probate process. From my office in Hickory, I handle each aspect of probate matters, including disputes involving potential beneficiaries. Don’t risk squandering time or money by dealing with complicated questions on your own. My staff and I will ensure that you have the guidance you need to close the estate properly.

Knowledgeable counselor develops a strategy to resolve estate issues

As an experienced estate planning attorney, I am familiar with all types of probate issues. If you are the executor or administrator of an estate, I will guide you through the various tasks that you will be responsible for, including:

  • Transferring assets from the deceased to the estate — I will marshal all of the decedent’s assets as quickly as possible and facilitate the transfer of each item into the estate.
  • Locating beneficiaries — Even if someone is difficult to find, I have the resources to locate and communicate with beneficiaries named in a will or entitled to receive property through intestacy.
  • Valuing and managing the estate — Whatever types of property the estate includes, I will secure an authoritative valuation and address other key concerns. My firm represents you in any ex parte proceedings or disputes before the court. I also make sure that taxes and other expenses are paid in a timely manner.
  • Liquidating the assets — Once all property has been incorporated into the estate, my firm distributes it in accordance with the law and files a final accounting with the court.

My firm also assists with special issues, such as estates that can be processed by an affidavit because of their small size. Likewise, I can explain the process for handling assets that are not distributed through the probate process, including insurance proceeds, joint accounts or property that is being held in a trust.

Dedicated advocate handles a full range of probate disputes

An estate conflict can worsen a period of emotional and financial stress. My firm represents executors, administrators and potential beneficiaries in disputes over the allocation of an estate. I work vigorously to ensure that the decedent’s wishes are carried out while charging affordable fees that are appropriate to the amount at issue.
